President Zardari Should Sign Swat Peace Deal: Iftikhar

BUTTKHELA: NWFP minister Iftikhar Hussain Friday said that the President should sign Swat peace agreement immediately adding that provincial government has held successful talks with Tehrik-e-Nifaz-e-Shariat Muhammadi chief Sufi Mohammed.
A spokesman of TNSM Izzat Khan has warned that the government will be responsible for the situation in case of delay in signing on the peace agreement.
NWFP minister said peace has been established in 70 percent area of Swat region and called all forces to extend help in peace efforts of the government.
Iftikhar said the provincial government was in contact with the central government over Swat deal.
A spokesman of TNSM Izzat Khan has warned that the government will be responsible for the situation in case of delay in signing on the peace agreement.
The spokesman talking to media said that the TNSM has not quit the deal and will continue its efforts for maintenance of peace in the region. He however warned that if the government dragged feet in signing the deal the situation could worsen and the government will be responsible for the situation.
