Balochistan Protests Leaders Slaying

KARACHI: Balochistan mourning slaying of three Baloch nationalist leaders as BNP leader Akhtar Mengal has called for shutter down strike in Balochistan. MQM holding a protest rally in Karachi today. MQM Quaid Altaf Hussain will address the party rally that will begin from Mazar-e-Quaid to protest against slaying of the Baloch leaders.
Property worth millions of rupees was ransacked during protests on Saturday which erupted across the province after the murder of three Baloch leaders in Turbat.
Meanwhile, a shutterdown strike was observed in the provincial capital and other parts of Balochistan. All major business centres and markets remained closed throughout the day.
In Turbat, some enraged protestors set on fire a bank branch, a museum, a hotel in Kech and the TMO office. Sources said the fire in the museum caused damage to antiques. The district administration of Turbat arrested 12 miscreants on charges of ransacking and damaging the government property. The FC have taken control of the city.
In Naushki, some infuriated demonstrators set ablaze an official quarter near District Jail. However, the fire caused no injury to any.
Similarly, the Quetta-Karachi RCD highway was blocked by some protesters.
The workers of the Balochistan National Party (BNP-M) took out a protest rally showing their anger against the killings of three Baloch leaders.
A large number of women also took out protest rally and staged demonstration in the Mand area of Kech. They also staged a sit-in in front of the FC camp.
