The Home Minister said the four terrorist outfits – Lashker-e- Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, Jamat-ul-Mujahideen and Hizbul Mujahideen – were earlier operating separately but have come together now.
He also disclosed that the intercepts of some terror cadres” conversations have a mention of Taliban.
“The word Taliban has occurred in that conversations but at the moment we cannot draw any conclusions.”
“I don”t think anyone has captured anyone to identify him as a Taliban. All that we know is that there is a serious attempt to infiltrate into India,” Chidambaram, however, added.
Chidambaram’s statements come amid reports about 30 Taliban terrorists entering Kashmir.
“Is it the ISI? Is it another state agency? Or is it a non-state player? Is it the Taliban? It is too early to say,” he said.
